The advantage of Cloud services is faster innovation and more flexible resources. The advantages for your Business is lower operating costs and being able to run your infrastructure more efficiently. Migrating to the Cloud also allows you the opportunity to scale as your Business needs grow or change.
If you’re planning to move your enterprise company to the Cloud, Blue Turtle will deliver Azure Cloud Migration Services that encompass discovery, assessment, migration, optimisation, operation and security.
Microsoft Azure Cloud provides a range of Cloud services, including analytics, virtual computing, cloud storage, networking and more. These services are scalable and can be tailored to perfectly suit the size of your business. This gives you Enterprise business the power with none of the downsides, enabling you to modernise IT infrastructure, lessen your administration workload and optimise your applications.
Here are examples of problem areas you can solve with Azure Cloud services:
Optimise your infrastructure
Get power for your Business with the hybrid cloud! Create Linux or Windows virtual machines in seconds. You’re able to scale when necessary, keep costs low by paying only for what you use, and benefit from enhanced security and compliance. Experience open-source software, configured your way.
Tailored, secure, scalable backup
Azure Cloud creates a scalable backup solution that works to your current workload. Cloud services will fit your costs too, save you time, efficiency, and ultimate peace of mind with three copies stored.
Back to business in no time
In the event of disaster, any downtime is minimised. Azure has a 99.999% uptime SLA, to allow for business as normal should a disaster arise. It can be set up as quickly as you need it to too.
Making the complicated simple
You need to be fully ready prior to Cloud migration, to ensure a limited impact on your operations. Migrating to the Cloud should also provide a smooth user experience and new skills training that doesn’t result in high costs and time lost. Depending on your circumstances, you may have to consider a number of things before moving over, especially if your applications incorporate multiple servers or virtual machines.
Whilst migration can seem complicated, an effective plan will help combat any issues.

What Cloud services do you offer?
Cloud Migration, Cost Management, Security and Operations
How can I avoid extended migration times, cost over-runs and performance issues with my Cloud Migration?
Our assessment installs and discovers your infrastructure within an hour, and generates accurate cloud migration plans within days, based on real-live data.
Our assessment accurately accounts for application resource needs; sizing up for performance and sizing down for cost (inlcuding aspects such as Reserved Instances).
Our cloud migration plans show detailde comparisions of compute and storage costs – your on-premise ‘as-is’ versus ‘to-be’ for target cloud providers.
How is Blue Turtle’s Cloud Migration different from server replication, scripting, templates and manual migration? What does it mean to migrate workloads ‘as-is’?
We exploit RiverMeadow’s SaaS, an “as-is migration” solution that automates the collection, re-packaging/conversion and deployment of server images and their associated metadata/configuration into cloud and virtual environments. As-is cloud migration offers automated cloud migration of workloads without any pre-processing on the source machine or post-processing on the target machine. Other solutions entail some manual pre-processing or post-processing.
What is the difference between migrating workloads and servers? Aren’t they the same?
Servers entail the OS, the applications and platforms (e.g. application servers, databases) associated with the workload. Workloads typically include the entire farm of servers (for scaling, failover), data storage (data may be stored on attached and/or networked storage) and the network and system configurations associated with the workload.
Does Blue Turtle’s Cloud Migration support concurrent connections?
Yes – Multiple migrations can be processed concurrently in a single exercise, using RiverMeadow’s SaaS.
What does it mean to live migrate a server?
It means that production servers can be migrated without having to take them down and out of production during the migration. Once the migration is complete and the workload is configured and tested on the target machine, the customer can set up a change window to cut-over to the new VM deployed in the target data center.
What platforms does the cloud assessment and migration support?
The Blue Turtle service supports migration from physical, virtual and other cloud platforms to public cloud platforms. Supported OS, hypervisors and Clouds are:
Source OS – Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016, Linux
Target Clouds – Amazon AWS, VMWare vCloud Director, VMware vCloud Air, VMware vShpere, Microsoft Azure, Google GCP
Do I need to install agents for migration?
No, our service exploits RiverMeadow’s agentless technology, so you will not need to install agents. RiverMeadow’s SaaS will automatically deploy a Cloud Appliance and Target Worker(s) into the target data center to collect, convert and deploy the source image(s).
Are there any hardware requirements?
No, RiverMeadow is a true SaaS cloud migration solution.
How long does it take to deploy an image to a server?
Deployment times are highly variable and depend on things like network bandwidth, throughput, disk IO and CPU speed for the server being provisioned. A benchmark deployment to provision a 10 GB VM in the same data center as the image library is 10 to 20 minutes. Deploying a very large image over a WAN or a slow/busy LAN can take an hour or more.
Can you assist with Windows Server & SQL Server 2008 End of Support upgrades?
Yes, we are able to assess and migrate Windows Server & SQL Server 2008 to both on-premise hypervisor and cloud platforms, this includes from 2008R2 to 2012 and 2016, as well as from SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2016 to SQL PaaS (Azure SQL).
How can I ensure that applications and workloads perform once they have been migrated ?
Our workload automation and optimization solution, Turbonomic, continuously assures that all workloads get precisely the resources needed to ensure performance and eliminate overspending while maintaining policy compliance. Founded in 2009, Boston-based Turbonomic is one of the fastest-growing technology companies, trusted by thousands of enterprise organizations to activate their hybrid cloud journey.
